JMG is looking to fill a new, innovative role at Lewiston High School, Lewiston, ME (Androscoggin County) for JMG Credentialing Specialist. 

The JMG Career & Credentialing Specialist works directly with students from Lewiston High School, playing a pivotal role in the distribution and expansion of JMG’s Micro-credentials & Credentials. This position supports Lewiston High School students by emphasizing the students' accessibility to various credentials of value. Additionally, the Specialist fosters strong connections among students, educators, and community partners. The Specialist also collaborates with the Lewiston Regional Technical Center (LRTC) ELO Coordinator to provide access work based experiential opportunities. The JMG Specialist serves as the primary liaison between JMG, Lewiston Public Schools (LPS), and community partners.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provides appropriate curriculum and ensures students achieve specific JMG competencies by engaging within different CTE programs & classrooms; teaches through a variety of methods including lecture, hands-on activities, and team teaching; tailors the program and teaching methods for the needs of each specific student, and implements an intervention strategy for each individual.
  • Provide leadership in the development and management of JMG’s Micro-credential programs, supporting skill-building and credentialing for students.
  • Develop, maintain, and strengthen relationships with community partners such as local chambers and community initiatives to design and implement experiential learning opportunities for students.
  • Assist in the coordination and implementation of tours, job shadows, and meaningful workforce experiences.
  • Administers career interest surveys. Establishes and implements a career development plan for all enrolled students.
  • Ensures positive perceptions of the JMG program within schools by developing and maintaining positive, effective working relationships with school personnel including teachers, administrators, and students.
  • Provides guidance and support within appropriate boundaries; refers students to additional support services as needed. Adheres to school policies, including mandated reporting, discipline, and attendance.
  • Maintains timely and accurate documentation of contacts and activities involving students, employers, and other stakeholders in the JMG database; ensures all information is entered accurately and promptly, and develops and maintains an organized filing system.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Must have Maine CHRC approval (or be eligible for Maine CHRC)
  • Experience in program management, community engagement, or education.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including students, educators, and community partners.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Commitment to promoting educational equity and student success.

 

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience in work-based learning for youth, from the school or community partner side.
  • Familiarity with the specific educational landscape and community resources in the Lewiston/ Auburn community.

Working Conditions

This position is based primarily at Lewiston High School. Semi-frequent travel within their designated region in Maine may be required along with occasional statewide travel.   

 

The position will begin July 2025

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary: $43,750 per year, with additional performance-based bonuses.
  • Paid Time Off: Includes school vacation weeks in December, February, and April, plus 15 additional vacation days.
  • Sick Leave: 3 weeks of sick time and 1 week of Covid time
