Summary of Position
The Neuro Imaging Analyst is responsible for performing quality control functions on all cases and taking digital microphotographs on designated cases with appropriately annotating areas. The Neuro Imaging Analyst will follow the direction of the supervisor while taking initiative in performing and promoting quality and efficiency within the department.
Key Job Elements
- Performs a Quality Control (QC) function during the image capture process ensuring: Slides and tissue types of matches and correlate with gross description, all pertinent slides are present, specimen type field matches gross, applicable upfront levels and stains were ordered, accuracy of the gross description.
- Conducts quantitative image analysis appropriately annotating areas and creates preliminary report for pathologist sign out.
- Assists in the identification of discrepancy cases.
- Performs Quality Control and Quality Assurance tests as required. Maintains all necessary documentation and current logs.
- Sustain the Neuro workflow by creating consistent flow in and out of the neuro cases.
- Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information concerning patients, physicians, employees, clients, vendors, and the company.
- Reports all concerns of quality, patient care, and/or employee safety to a supervisor or Safety Officer.
