POSITION SUMMARY:
The Teen & Y-Hub Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the multigenerational room (Y-HUB) and appropriate after school activities for children from 3rd - 12th grade. The Teen & Y-Hub Supervisor demonstrates cause driven leadership and engages in and promotes the YMCA mission through the core values: Honesty, Caring, Responsibility and Respect.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
•Supervision of teen and youth participants in the Y-Hub space.•Provides participants with positive support, guidance, and instruction with on-site teen/youth activities.•Maintains order during activities/games by resolving any behavioral challenges with documents and/or reports. Recommends disciplinary action as needed.•Uses motivational techniques to encourage teamwork, cooperation, self-esteem, self-confidence, decision making, problem solving of participants, establishes achievable goals and objectives with participants.•Works with supervisor to develop structure with activities for teens and youth; allows participants the opportunity to play in all games.•Exercise mature judgment and sound decision making in all work environments.•Provides a safe environment for teens and youth by checking the condition of facilities and equipment used; examines environment and equipment prior to play for unexpected hazards.•Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.•Must be proactive, self-sufficient, and highly motivated.•Presently, actively engaged, mentally and physically.•Learn, follow, and enforce local Y and national guidelines related to internal policies.•Provide basic first-aid or contact emergency services for severe injuries.•Reports any problems with teen and youth behavior, parent behavior, or staff to Supervisor via incident reports and documents serious incidents (child abuse, sexual abuse, etc.) when necessary, involves appropriate authorities.•Other duties as assigned.
