What you'll be doing:
- Engage individuals and establish trusting, collaborative relationships directed toward the goal of competitive employment in integrated community job settings with individuals without psychiatric disabilities.Â
- Responsible for individualized assessment in the area of vocational skills/functioning on an ongoing basis utilizing background information, work experiences and preferences.Â
- Responsible for building relationships with employers, business and educational institutions that have jobs and educational preferences consistent with the individual's choice.Â
- Provide support education, using principles similar to supported employment, for individuals who express interest in education to advance their employment goals.Â
- Conduct job development and job search activities directed toward positions that are individualized to the interests and uniqueness of clients, following principles and procedures of supported employment.Â
- Assist individuals in obtaining information about their benefits and how they will be affected by employment in order to make good decisions about employment opportunities and refer to benefits counseling, as needed.Â
- Provide education and support to family members/caregivers about vocational and educational pursuits.Â
- Participate in weekly meetings with mental health treatment team and communicates individually with team members between meetings in order to coordinate and integrate vocational/educational services into mental health treatment.Â
- Spends 60% or more of scheduled work hours in the community; this may include taking individuals to apply for jobs and investigating local GED or college options, etc.Â
- Responsible for documentation in client records, completion of required data gathering and reports.Â
- Complete other duties as assigned.
