License Practical Nurse

Job Description: The Licensed Practical Nurse will evaluate our patients for emergent care needs and support our therapeutic team within patient treatment plans in our Access to Care department. Documenting the medical progress and notes while keeping up with all state and federal regulation. Assist with capturing Ha1c and vital signs upon client registration. This position will work Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.

American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) Certified Medical Assistants (CMA) or American Medical Technologists (AMT) Registered Medical Technologist (RMT) candidates with the appropriate credentials are also accepted for this role (see qualifications for more details). 

 

 

 

 

 

What you'll be doing: 

  • Obtain Ha1c, vital signs, and drug screens for clients during registration.
  • Make referral to Care Coordinator if needed for abnormal lab values.
  • Interface with local physician offices and laboratories to obtain lab results/coordinate care.
  • Make request for supply orders.
  • Complete and maintain documentation in a timely manner.
  • Assist with messages and prior authorizations.                    
  • Coverage for other nurses if necessary.
  • Attend staff meetings.
  • Complete all yearly trainings.
  • Maintain licensure/certification.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What we're looking for: 

  • Valid Alabama Nurse License-Current
  • At least two years of Nursing experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer Knowledge
  • If applying as a CMA or RMT, must be certified by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or American Medical Technologists (AMT) with some experience in the field.  
    • A copy of your current Medical Assistant Certificate must be provided along with your application.
