Job Description: The Certified Medical Assistant will care for patients with a potential substance use disorder (SUD) or mental health crisis. This candidate will work with the treatment team to support our patients medical and psychological needs. This will include ensuring proper documentation as required by state and federal law, intake of patients and their initial medical stats, responding to messages and calls and communicate them based on urgency in our Primary Care Department.Â

What you will be doing:
- Take temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and record the information in the EHR.
- Document physical assessments of consumers. Maintain complete and accurate documentation.Â
- Observe all safety and security procedures. Promote a safe and pleasant work environment.
- Assist consumers with releases of information and other forms as needed
- Complete a medication checklist for each consumer seen
- Respond to all patient messages and document these conversations in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
- Contact the doctor when a significant change in the clients medications is indicatedÂ
- Responsible for completing all forms and paperwork required by the agency, state, and federal laws
- Participate in training activities to increase skills and become more knowledgeable in methods and techniques used in the care of psychiatric clients in the use and effects of psychotropic drugs, customer service, and crisis de-escalation.Â
