We are looking for a State and Local Tax Director to join our Tax Department. As a State and Local Tax Director, you will be responsible for: 

Responsibilities:

• Income and indirect tax nexus. 
• Apportionment and revenue sourcing for income, business activity and indirect taxes.  
• Sales taxability matrices and analysis for indirect taxes.  
• Credits and incentives for job creation and qualifying investments.  
• SALT planning and implementation.  
• M&A SALT due diligence for pending transactions, and  
• SALT controversies involving audits and administrative appeals.  

The position involves working in a highly interactive and dynamic team environment within Citrin Cooperman’s National SALT practice. Candidates should have strong research and communication (i.e., writing, and oral) skills as well as a comprehensive understanding of multi-state tax concepts. • BS in Accounting, LLM or Master’s in Taxation.  
• CPA and/or JD preferred.  
• Broad SALT experience, including income/franchise tax, personal income tax, and sales/use tax.  
• 10+ years of tax experience working in a public accounting or law firm of which at least 4 of the years was exclusively in SALT.  
• Ability to grow strong team relationships.  
• Effectively communicate verbally and in writing both internally and externally.  
• Strong analytical and research skills in a firm or corporate environment.  
• Highly organized.  
• A strong desire to learn new concepts and apply these concepts real-time.
