REGISTERED NURSE

YOUTH & FAMILY SERVICES

FULL TIME –EXEMPT

General Summary:   To provide skilled nursing services within a community based behavioral health center within a multidisciplinary team.

 

Schedule: Mon-Fri, First Shift, in office

Location: Warwick, RI

Pay Range: Starting at $80,000- depending on experience

Essential Responsibilities: 

 

  • Complete and utilize comprehensive nursing assessments, plans, interventions and evaluations in direct client care.
  • Monitor medication and administer injections with strict adherence to Thrive policy and procedure. 
  • Monitor signs and symptoms of psychiatric functioning; monitor medication regimen; assist in community networking and education.
  • Consult/liaison with psychiatrist and/or medical doctors and other treatment staff;
  • Provide referral consultation and education to the community regarding issues of chemical dependency and mental health.
  • Provide mental health consultation, education and training to agency personnel.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of treatment plans and document services consistent with Thrive standards and/or insurance requirements.
  • Collaborate with other providers, agencies and individuals in the client's network of care.
  • Provide education and information in basic daily living skills, medications, and diagnoses.
  • Teach clients effective techniques for managing their medication as prescribed.
  • Coordinate services within Thrive as needed.
  • Cross coverage of Youth and Family Nursing programs as needed.
  • Assist with scheduling and transfer of services to outside providers as directed by medical staff.
  • Participation in Nursing Team meetings and continuing education opportunities
  • Assist clients in developing and strengthening their support network to accomplish goals and objectives.
  • Complete clinical documentation and client records in accordance with Thrive standards and state and federal regulations.
  • Carry and enliven a positive Thrive image consistent with the Thrive’s Guiding Principles and professional code of ethics.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education, Experience and Competencies:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in the Nursing or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  •  Minimum (2) years’ experience in in a mental health setting working with clients with disabilities preferred.
  •  Experience or training in related state and federal assistance programs also preferred.
  •  Basic computer literacy skills are necessary.

 

Certifications, Licenses Requirements:

  • Rhode Island registered nursing license required.
  • Valid driver's license and automobile insurance which meets Rhode Island minimum standards required, or the ability to obtain necessary transportation in order to perform the responsibilities/tasks of the job.

All employees are considered benefit eligible if their schedule is 20 hours per week or more. Time-off balances are pro-rated for part-time employees.

Reports To:

REGISTERED NURSE reports directly to Nurse Supervisor and will be supervised according to Thrive Behavioral Health Supervision Policy.
