Seeking a highly motivated, experienced Business Development Director for an established truck driver training program. The individual would report to the VP of Operations and will also include travel.

The Director of New Business Development (NBD) is responsible for the effective execution of new business development strategy for SAGE in the context of its mission, vision, values and overall growth strategy. New business is defined as new contract training opportunities offsite and onsite for SAGE. This position reports to the VP of Operations but will manage and execute strategies that rely on all existing departments within SAGE.

Primary/Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Complies with all Federal, State, accreditation and institutional policies and procedures.

• Develop, execute and refine contract acquisition for easy replication and duplication.

• Identify, evaluate and recommend new partner opportunities.

• Identify, evaluate and recommend new contract opportunities.

• Oversee the due diligence and eventual integration of new contracts.

• Develop and maintain relationships with C-suite leaders, other school leaders, governing bodies, and all others necessary to develop contacts for new business opportunities.

• The NBD will need to collaborate, set deadlines and project manage all aspects of the contract process from inception to execution.

• In collaboration with the VP of Operations this position has complete responsibility in leading, directing, managing and executing all activities and plans for marketing SAGE for external and internal opportunities.

• Other duties, responsibilities and projects as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Key Success Factors To be successful, you will need to build and maintain partnerships with various trucking companies, post-secondary education institutions and community and government partners. Key candidates will be performance driven, self-starters, with 5-7 years solid experience in the transportation and CDL training sectors.

Essential Skills and Experience (skills, knowledge, abilities, education, certifications, licenses)

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Transportation Management, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in contract management or business development, preferably in the transportation industry, strongly preferred.

• Strong negotiation and communication skills.

• Excellent organizational and project management abilities.

• Extensive knowledge of CDL training standards and regulations.

• Thorough knowledge of campus operations

• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to influence others without formal authority

• Strong leadership capabilities

• Successful background in project management

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Demonstrated ability to complete and execute detailed plans with aggressive timelines and produces expected results.

• Strong PC skills
