Summary
Nashoba Brooks School seeks an associate transitional kindergarten and extended day teacher for the 2025 - 2026 school year. The associate transitional kindergarten and extended day teacher is a full-time position in our transitional kindergarten and extended day program. The associate transitional kindergarten and extended day teacher works Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. The associate transitional kindergarten teacher supports the transitional kindergarten program by partnering with a lead teacher in a classroom in the morning and extended day in the afternoons. The successful candidate will possess the desire to work in a dynamic, student-centered school committed to continuous learning and excellence in 21st century education. Responsibilities
The associate transitional kindergarten and extended day teacher is responsible for:
- Working closely with teaching and administrative employees to support the educational, social and emotional development of students.
- Collaborating with teaching team members and the student support team to identify and support student learning needs.
- Modeling excellent problem solving and project management skills with a commitment to viewing challenges as problems that can be solved rather than obstacles that cannot be overcome.
- Supporting effective communication and collaboration within the Lower School team.
- Supporting student safety through a demonstrated commitment to emergency response training.
- Implementing lesson plans and assisting in developing curricular activities that promote collaborative and integrated learning.
- Collaborative planning for and facilitation of Extended Day (Preschool - Grade 3)
- Creating and supporting routines that recognize the importance of active engagement that is developmentally appropriate and intellectually stimulating.
- Assisting in maintaining observational records for each child.
- Communicating effectively with parents through informal daily interactions, email, telephone and periodic written reports.
- Actively pursuing and integrating relevant professional development opportunities.
- Supporting the School community and culture through additional duties such as student supervision, attending community events, etc.
- Engaging effectively in a dynamic learning environment by demonstrating flexibility and the willingness to contribute to the broader community.
