This is a Part-Time position with a pay rate of $18.00 per hour.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
Under direct supervision, performs semi-skilled and unskilled work to assist in the maintenance and construction of City grounds and equipment. Work involves the maintenance and landscaping of City grounds; application of herbicides and insecticides as needed; City buildings, and equipment; assisting with the repair of light equipment assigned to the department. Work also involves assisting with the clearing of land for designated areas and sidewalks; setting up and assisting with special events. Reports to the Grounds Maintenance Supervisor.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION
- Performs general landscape maintenance duties, including mowing and trimming grass and shrubbery, edging, spraying herbicides and pesticides, and spreading grass seed and fertilizer; polices areas to remove debris and litter.
- Prepares and maintains grounds and facilities; grading and performing general landscaping functions on City property.
- Assists in the maintenance and construction of equipment and facilities such as shelters, maintenance shelters, and other structures associated with the Department.
- Assists supervisor with the maintenance and repair of equipment assigned to the department; assists with routine maintenance of equipment.
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs other related work as required.
