The Door empowers young people to reach their full potential by providing comprehensive youth development services in a diverse and caring environment. At The Door, youth can access health care and education, mental health counseling and crisis assistance, legal assistance, college preparation services, career development, housing supports, arts, sports and recreational activities, and nutritious meals – all for free and under one roof.
The Door operates two Supportive Housing sites, East 9th Street (The Foyer), which consists of 28 individual studios and 12 one – bedroom, for families, and The Lee, which consists of 55 units: studios and shared suites providing social service supports for the young adults that reside in the Supportive Housing Programs, located in the Lower East Side and Alphabet City.
