About the Opportunity
Chelsea Piers is seeking one full-time and one part-time Assistant Teacher to join our CP Kids Early Learning Center team. In this role, you will help ensure the safety and well-being of our daycare students, ranging in age from 3 months to 5 years. You will collaborate with fellow teachers to plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons while actively engaging in play and developmental activities. Ideal candidates will have prior experience working with toddlers and a passion for early childhood education. Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a dynamic, creative, and age-appropriate curriculum
  • Engage children in developmentally appropriate play and activities throughout the day
  • Maintain ongoing communication with parents regarding each child’s development through both verbal and written updates
  • Design and lead daily gross motor skill activities
  • Plan and manage the daily classroom schedule and routines
  • Collaborate and contribute as a supportive team member

Schedule: Hours will vary depending on business needs within the CP Kids business hours (M-F, 7:30am-6:00pm)
Full-Time Role: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week (8 hours per day)
Part-Time Role: Monday-Friday, 25 hours per week (5 hours per day)

Compensation: $17-$19

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as an assistant teacher in an early childhood setting or similar role
  • Experience working with children ages 1–3 years
  • Patient, enthusiastic, and nurturing demeanor
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
