Job Summary:

Technical manager position providing support for programs and services globally to Sales, Sourcing and customers as needed.  TPM plays a key role in the team’s consultative selling approach to its customers by assessing the customer’s maintenance capability, current tooling inventory availability for re-purposing / re-use, local maintenance practices, shop load forecast and level of desired maintenance in order to prepare a detailed recommendation to meet their Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and tooling needs. Direct responsibility extends from campaign launch to campaign fulfillment (tool delivery/entry into service).

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop/Maintain general and customized work scope specific GSE tooling lists for assigned engine programs according to customer requirements.
• Be the tooling focal interface within various OEM Support Equipment Design and Engineering (SEE) organizations and Customer & Product Support organizations for the assigned engine programs.
• Lead and conduct the management and implementation of new product installations, commissioning, including the upgrade or modification of existing product installations at customer sites.
• Resolve customer and supplier GSE and tooling technical related questions on blueprints and specifications by technical interpretation.
• Technical support activities will be related to tool usage/training, engine application, operation, maintenance and storage of tools in alignment with the OEM databases and supporting Engine Manuals and other technical documents.
• When opportunities/conflicts are discovered, effectively communicate and resolve with applicable OEM organizations and other relevant team members.
• Manage and support the Sourcing organization in vendor identification and GE/CFM Supplier Problem Report (SPR)
• Provide trouble shooting expertise alongside customers to assist team in identifying root cause and corrective actions for design, manufacturing, electronic, software, or hydromechanical issues.
• Up to 50% travel per year to support sales campaigns, evaluate and setup facilities and conduct other customer-needed services, including but not limited to GSE and tooling training.
• Support other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Be able to demonstrate an in-depth working knowledge or equivalent experience of GSE and complex tooling for GE/CFM and/or RR Large, Medium and Small Turbine Engines, Architecture, Systems, Components, Processes and Operations.
• 4-year technical degree or 10+ years of progressive experience with GSE and tooling.
• Strong project management, planning, organizational, leadership, oral and written communication skills.
• Be able to demonstrate good problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Must be able to read and interpret all OEM tooling blueprints and specifications.
• Read, understand and translate into current configuration, all OEM requirements for Airframe OEM and Gas Turbine Engine OEM Technical and Maintenance publications, service bulletins, drawings, models and process sheets.
• Experience in fast paced customer facing roles, requiring advanced skills in electrical, hydro mechanical, assembly, disassembly, testing, and operating complex specialized equipment specific to the aviation industry.
• Experience with MS-Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point, Teams).  ERP systems (Epicor) is a plus.
• Articulate and effective communicator with the ability to influence others through the employment of sound judgment and good sense rather than the use of authority.
• This role is based in Mason, OH.
