A Place Called Home is a dynamic, non-profit youth and community center in South Central Los Angeles. APCH provides educational programs, counseling, mentoring, music, dance and art classes, fitness and health and wellness opportunities. As youth participate in our programs, they discover interests and talents and develop a better sense of themselves and their place in the world around them. Our goal is to increase the likelihood that youth will stay in school, pursue higher education, attain viable jobs, and become active community members capable of making positive change in the world in which they live.

JOB SUMMARY 

Reporting to the Senior Director of Engagement, the Corporate Giving Officer is a key fundraiser who will grow our funding opportunities within the corporate sector by recruiting, cultivating and stewarding corporate donors who support APCH through event sponsorships, in-kind donations, program sponsorships and partnerships, employee giving and other annual financial support. The Corporate Giving Officer will identify, engage, cultivate, solicit, and steward business donors. This role will also manage local relationships with national partners (cause-marketing, customer point of sale activations, etc.). Candidates must demonstrate strong relationship building skills and excellent communication skills. This is a full-time, benefits eligible, hybrid work position with a mix of virtual and in-office work. The position also requires local travel for face-to-face meetings with corporate partners and prospects, as well as some evening and weekend engagements.

ESSENTIAL JOB ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Meet annual revenue targets by working with an assigned portfolio of corporate donors and new prospects; maintain and steward a portfolio of approximately 100 corporate prospects; monitor progress toward fundraising goals and work to develop and implement strategies to achieve annual targets. 
• Conduct research on prospective and current donors, proactively and as assigned, assessing mission-match, propensity, and capacity for support; understand varying corporate giving priorities to identify potential synergies between donors and APCH’s mission funding opportunities. 
• Participate in creating custom fundraising plans to sustain and increase each corporate donor's annual support; think creatively to provide corporate donors with opportunities that offer value to both parties, such as employee volunteer opportunities, and marketing and media collaborations. 
• Proactively cultivate corporate donors toward appropriate funding opportunities like event sponsorships and program sponsorships; adhering to organizational and donor deadlines, and coordinating with Senior Leadership, Special Events Fundraising, Program Staff and others to ensure a positive outcome for all involved. 
• Develop and write cogent custom proposals, presentations and results-focused reports for individual corporate supporters; make appropriate, strategic and compelling solicitations of corporate donor contacts; understand and present accurate budgets and expense reports to corporate donors as necessary. 
• In partnership with Senior Leadership, the Events team and other Development staff conceptualize and execute corporate benefits and recognition, including developing or attending special opportunities like targeted events for stewardship, networking for recruitment purposes. 
• Maintain clear donor records of local activity and local contacts for national partners. Understand and present clear fundraising goals, outcomes and other results of national partnerships and local activations to new partners; fulfill requirements for local activation of national partnerships. 
• Collaborate with the Gift Administration team to ensure that corporate donor and gift records and reports are maintained accurately and updated in a timely fashion; 
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of APCH priorities and programs; build and maintain strong working relationships with key staff across the agency to understand program needs and opportunities, and develop fluency with the agency’s story and substantiating data. 
• Attend and support APCH fundraising and community events (occasional evening and weekend work will be required), and serve as a key ambassador for the agency.

• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to support organizational needs and goals.

The ideal Corporate Giving Officer will be an individual who carries high personal, professional and ethical standards, is high energy by nature, proactive, and enjoys partnering with others to achieve successful outcomes. To be successful in this role the Director will be a self-starter and focus on achieving excellence of service and performance. A valid driver's license is required.

Education/Training/Experience 

• Degree: Bachelors Degree 
• 2+ years of related experience
