ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

This position is responsible for maintaining outstanding customer service and open communication between all departments, and the Club Members and guests. The Monitor will assist with all areas of the Athletic Club to include implementing and enforcing Club policies. The Monitor will perform on going regular walk-throughs of all areas of The Athletic Club to ensure safety and a positive experience of Club Members and guests.

  • Ensure that each Member and guest receive outstanding customer service by providing a friendly environment to include; proper greeting, knowledge of weekly event schedule, and other relevant information
  • Respond to guest inquiries and requests and resolve any issues in a timely, friendly and efficient manner
  • Maintain a safe workplace by utilizing “safety first” practices to remain accident-free
  • Ensure knowledge and familiarity with all safety procedures, fire alarms, gas/water isolation valve locations, First Aid requirements and be able to act calmly and professionally in times of emergency
  • Communicate the rules of the club to the Athletic Club team, Club Members and guests
  • Handle conflict as the need arises in a calm, professional manner
  • Maintain all facets of weight room and cardio equipment to include the organization and ordering of new or broken equipment
  • Perform regular walk-throughs of the building to ensure cleanliness, safety and organization of all areas
  • Check in with all Athletic Club Department during rounds of the building
  • Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Club Manager

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Have at least three years of experience in a customer service setting
  • Have the ability to operate a computer
  • Must have the ability to lift and move 30 lbs., 30% of the time
  • Must be able to communicate in English
  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays as required

ADDITIONAL NOTES: 

Must possess customer service skills and strong oral communication skills. Competency in dealing with Club Members, guests and fellow employees under circumstances requiring tact and diplomacy.  Must possess the ability to work effectively under time deadlines.
