We are seeking a highly accomplished Vice President of Safety to build, lead, and scale our safety organization. This key leadership role will be responsible for setting a strategic vision for safety across all operations and instilling a proactive safety culture throughout the company. The VP of Safety will serve as the primary executive liaison with industry associations and internal stakeholders to maintain the highest safety standards in the industry.
This is a critical, highly visible leadership role that requires proven expertise in aviation safety, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to build consensus across a diverse, fast-growing organization. This position will require you to work in the Corporate Headquarters office located in Overland Park, KS. This is not a remote or hybrid role.    Â

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute the company’s long-term safety strategy aligned with operational growth and global operations
- Lead the buildout of a dedicated safety team, including structure, roles, and responsibilities
- Drive a company-wide safety culture through proactive communication, training, and accountability
- Operational Oversight
- Oversee the Safety Management Systems (SMS) and safety culture to include IEP, ASAP, Employee Safety Report, aviation safety, human factor, and risk analysis, ensuring integration across all functions
- Serve as the executive lead for emergency response planning, facilitating internal and external audits, investigations, and corrective action programs
- Oversight of change management and risk control
- Oversee company-based representatives
- Team Building & Development
- Mentor and develop safety personnel and scale the team as the business grows
- Partner with Flight Operations, Maintenance, Training, and HR to align safety initiatives with daily operations
- External Engagement
- Act as the company’s safety representative to the FAA, NTSB, ICAO, OSHA, and industry bodies (e.g., NBAA, IS-BAO)
- Monitor and proactively position the company as a leader in safety practices
