Financial Reporting Analyst (On-site)

Position Summary:
The Financial Reporting Analyst is responsible for managing and analyzing financial data to ensure accurate and timely reporting. This role involves preparing financial statements, analyzing trends, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making. The analyst will work closely with finance teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, particularly in the context of long-term care or nursing home settings, nonprofit financial reporting, and government programs such as Medicare and Medicaid.


Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Manage the preparation and submission of IRS Form 990 for nonprofit organizations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Conduct detailed analysis of Medicare/Medicaid cost reports and HUD financial requirements to support organizational compliance and strategic planning.
- Utilize data analytics tools to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for financial performance improvement.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting processes by providing accurate financial data and analysis.
- Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure the organization remains compliant and competitive.
- Provide financial insights and reports to senior management to aid in strategic decision-making and long-term planning.
- Participate in audits and other financial reviews, providing necessary documentation and support to auditors.

Qualifications

Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

Preferred Education:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Master of Business Administration (MBA)

Required Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial reporting or a similar role
- Proficiency in financial statement preparation and analysis
- Experience with financial software and reporting tools

Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficient, intermediate to advanced, skills in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Skills and Abilities:
- Experience preferably in long-term care or nursing home settings
- Familiarity with nonprofit financial reporting and IRS Form 990
- Understanding of Medicare/Medicaid cost reporting and HUD financial requirements
- Experience in data analytics
