Claims Processing Assistant

Job Summary: Responsible for assisting the claims department with various duties utilizing multiple platforms to include key punching, claim reporting, bill adjudication, answer telephone for TPA and other general clerical duties as assigned.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Adjudicate medical bills & produce EOB
• Utilize secured server for upload and download of medical bills
• Data entry of new claims
• Report new losses to appropriate carriers via multiple systems
• Open and process mail, scan reports and/or correspondence
• Run weekly medical & compensation checks
• Run, complete, and distribute month end reports for TPA clients
• Monitor, distribute and handle e-mail received by claims@cobbsallen.com;
• Attach documents in claim files
• Communication with internal staff regarding to obtain information needed for reporting of claims
• Reporting Liability claims to carriers add casualty
• Communication with clients regarding additional information needed for claim reporting
• Other general duties as assigned by a claim advocate
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Accurate data entry skills
• Ability to utilize a personal computer with Excel, Word, and other media required to perform position responsibilities
• Ability to meet workflow standards and quality management standards
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and consistently meet deadlines
• Ability to be physically present to complete duties & responsibilities during office hours
