Description

Job Summary: Responsible for receiving new Workers Compensation claim first notices from insureds; reporting them to the appropriate carrier and following up to ensure timely and complete resolution. Also responsible for assisting with education of broker employees and clients relative to claims process. Position will work with various individuals including broker, client and carrier.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare claim summaries and present at client meetings as necessary
  • Participate in claims review process with producers, clients and service department personnel as necessary
  • Provide training and education of the claims process to broker and client personnel as opportunities arise
  • Receive and review new claim information and evaluate all applicable exposures for claim reporting
  • Report claims to appropriate insurance policies and follow-up for Insurer/TPA acknowledgments
  • Maintain active claim diaries on all reported claims to secure adjuster information and adjuster involvement in the claim process
  • Enter claim information into broker internal claims system
  • Follow up with adjuster and insured to secure timely resolution of claim and excellent customer service
  • Review and provide analysis of reserve and settlement recommendations as expected by clients
  • Continually search for process improvements and/or enhancements to workflow; make recommendations for change where appropriate
  • Review documents issued by insurance company for accuracy
  • Respond to client and company requests for action and information on any claims-related matter
  • Ensure that Insurer/TPA strictly adhere to account service instructions and address any claim handling deficiencies while working with Insurer/TPA to improve account services
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma is required, Bachelors degree preferred
  • 5 -10 years experience with workers compensation lines claims in a commercial insurance environment broker or insurer
  • Knowledge of Commercial Property and Workers Compensation forms and coverages for appropriate claims reporting
  • Ability to maintain claims workload in a fast-paced environment within broker-established time frames to ensure the highest level of service for our clients
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong multi-tasking and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to efficiently handle multiple, simultaneous, and complex tasks and projects
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality
