POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for the accurate and timely production of various accounting functions within the department.  The Staff Account will report to the Controller.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prepares/posts/distributes Accounts Receivable invoices.
  • Prepares/posts tenant lease adjustments
  • Processes Maintenance Department inventory counts and reconciliations
  • Review Maintenance Department financials and posts/distributes allocated costs
  • Processes fixed assets, prepaid insurance and prepaid expenses reconciliations
  • Prepares/posts/distributes admin allocation posting
  • Process health insurance
  • Assists with reviewing balance sheet accounts, makes correcting entries
  • Cross train with staff to assist with creating PO’s and entering A/P
  • Perform such other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time by the Controller

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Two (2) year degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent.  At least two (2) years’ experience in any accounting discipline.  Also experience with Microsoft Business Solutions and Great Plains Accounting Software a plus.

Qualifications

SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of general office practices and procedures.
  • Ability to perform detailed work with numerical data and to make arithmetic computations rapidly and accurately.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to perform quality work under pressure and meet required deadlines.

EQUIPMENT TO BE USED:

 

Computer hardware or software, 10-key calculator, fax machine, copy machine, various office equipment.
