Marketing Manager

Position Summary

We seek a dynamic Marketing Manager—a true “Jill or Jack of all trades”—to join our small but mighty team.

This role requires someone as comfortable behind a camera or video editing software as they are planning a strategic marketing campaign or designing a social media graphic.

If you're passionate about the Girl Scout Mission and ready to roll up your sleeves on any project that comes your way, we want to meet you.

This individual will be a key partner to the Vice President of Marketing & Communications and play a pivotal role in driving the council’s marketing efforts.

The ideal candidate is creative, reliable, collaborative, proactive and professional.

This role requires a diverse skill set and the flexibility to pivot between high-level strategy and hands-on execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with VP of Marketing & Communications to lead and execute an integrated marketing strategy aligned with council goals
  • Manage website content using a CMS to ensure timely, accurate and engaging information is available to members and the public
  • Lead social media planning, content creation, publishing and analytics
  • Create compelling email marketing campaigns, including design, copywriting and performance tracking
  • Design print and digital marketing materials, including flyers, brochures, reports, graphics and event collateral following all required Girl Scout brand guidelines
  • Produce photo and video content, edit and package high-quality assets for internal and external use
  • Write and edit clear, on-brand copy for a variety of channels (blogs, social media, email, etc.) using Girl Scout voice and AP Style
  • Support and mentor youth members of the council’s Media Team in content creation and storytelling
  • Ensure brand consistency across all materials and communications
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with departments, volunteers and external partners
  • Travel across our 26-county footprint for on-site events, photo and video content gathering and media opportunities
  • To be considered, include a link to an online portfolio or email work samples to marketing@gsnypenn.org showcasing your breadth of marketing and communications skills—design, photography, videography, social media, writing

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, multimedia, graphic design or related field and/or equivalent professional experience
  • 3+ years of relevant marketing experience; nonprofit or prior Girl Scout Council experience is a plus
  • Proficiency with website CMS (Adobe Experience Manager, WordPress), social media management, scheduling and aggregation (Meta Business Manager, Later, Juicer), email marketing (Salesforce Marketing Cloud, MyEmma), project management (Trello, Atlassian) and digital publishing (Issuu) platforms
  • Strong graphic design skills using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects) and Canva
  • Digital photography and editing (Photoshop, Lightroom)
  • Videography production and editing (Premiere Pro or equivalent)
  • Excellent written and verbal communications
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail and deadlines
  • Must be a proactive self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a passion for the Girl Scout Mission and values
  • Ability to work a flexible, hybrid schedule—including some evening and weekend hours
  • Must have reliable transportation, maintain a valid NYS Driver’s License and be able to travel to all 26 counties of the council
  • Staff members are required to hold membership in the Girl Scout organization and subscribe to the tenets of the Girl Scout Promise & Law
