Summary/Objective:
The Learning and Development Manager (LDM) drives profitable, effective field operations and sales by providing structured, consistent training related to processes, customer interaction, sales, safety, and leadership. They will partner with operational leaders and stakeholders including Regional Vice Presidents and District Managers to develop, validate, and sustain best-in-class training practices in the automotive quick-lube and preventative maintenance sector. They will interact, design and implement approved training programs to the field operators, including support for pilot and new program initiatives to both retail and franchise operations.
Essential Functions:
- Work closely with Operations and Corporate leaders, including field leadership to ensure the success of new and tenured employees through training and development.
- Help deliver thorough training for new Center Managers and District Managers, both promoted internally and hired from the outside.
- Assist Center Managers to ensure they have the skills, exposure and materials to train service center employees.
- Store-based remedial and training projects to accelerate team growth when needed.
- Work with local, approved vendors to supply additional support training.
- Recognize gaps in training content and materials and provide insight into generating higher productivity and safety among staff.
- Identify future training needs and assist in the creating curriculum to facilitate the training.
- Lead programs to assist employees with transitions due to technological changes, acquisitions, and mergers.
- Communicate with management, trainers, and team members to ensure that all training objectives are completed.
- Train remotely using video conferencing and online instructor-led training to increase positive impact across assigned areas.
- Field Training and Facilitation of instruction led classes.
- Adherence to expense and travel policies
- Provide consistent and clear reporting of training progress and challenges for each assigned location.
- Recognize and immediately address safety concerns.
- Ability to travel 50%-75% with overnight and weekend assignments.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Ability to work collaboratively and drive decision-making in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office products, ability to learn additional systems and software as needed. Excel Skills and experience is required.
- Be positive and collaborative in all communications (written, verbal and in-person).Â
- Bilingual a plus, but not required.
Physical Demands /Work Environment:
- The LDM is regularly required to stand, bend, walk, ascend, and descend stairs, talk, and hear.
- This position may need to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
- The noise level while working in the field can be very loud.
- May be subject to continuous exposure to the elements, including summer heat and winter cold, rain, and wind.
- Business Travel and overnight stays in multiple cities per week will be required 50-75% of the time and will include occasional weekend travel

Required Experience:
- 2+ Years prior management experience, multi-location leadership preferred.
- 3+ years of experience training and developing sales and processes.
- 3-5 years of automotive mechanical repair and maintenance experience.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Facilitation / training certification (plus)
- Previous public speaking training
- ASE or other Universally recognized Automotive certifications (plus, but not required)
- Valid Driver’s License
