Job Summary: 

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the maintenance department. This includes managing the upkeep of all manufacturing assets, managing maintenance budget and resources, and assisting in the design and installation of new systems.  

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

  • Creating and managing team schedules to ensure coverage across a 3-shift manufacturing operation. 

  • Evaluating performance and providing feedback. 

  • Create individual development plans for training. 

 

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for managing multiple shifts of maintenance technicians and/or maintenance supervisors. 

  • Ensuring all environmental, health and safety standards are met and complied with to ensure an accident-free workplace. 

  • Use and maintain the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to ensure repair information and downtime are recorded. 

  • Manage spare part inventory levels by leveraging the CMMS to ensure critical components are always available for preventative and reactive maintenance activities. 

  • Develop policies and procedures to improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality. 

  • Develop, implement, monitor, and optimize the organization s maintenance management plan in accordance with its goals to improve uptime and minimize costs. 

  • Performs maintenance management by supervising maintenance personnel and establishing priorities in maintenance schedules. 

  • Manages maintenance personnel by setting direction and priorities. 

 

Required Skills/Abilities:  

  • Excellent communication and coaching skills. 

  • Detail oriented and organized. 

  • Comfortable “leading-by-example” using hands on training to develop and train team members. 

  • Proficient computer skills working in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) 

  • Self-motivated, results oriented and excellent communication skills. 

  • Ability to work with working with 120V, 240V, and 480V. 

 

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering is preferred, technical college. 

  • Five years of maintenance management experience. 

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. 

  • Experience working with industrial machinery is required. 

 

Physical Requirements: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, feel/reach with hands/arms, talk, and hear. 

The employee frequently is required to sit and walk. The employee is occasionally required to bend and stop, push and pull, reach above shoulder level, kneel, squat, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job to include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
