Job Purpose:
The On Site ASI Academic Coach is a part-time position. The Academic Coach works with girls in a classroom environment providing academic coaching and support to girls in the Pittsburgh area in grades 3-12 to increase academic achievement. Academic Coaches have a wide skill range that includes ELA, math, science, foreign language, SPED, and others. Academic Coaches work with students on skill-building, homework assistance, essay writing and college prep. Academic coaching takes place on an individual or group level based upon the need of the student
Position Summary:
- Provide ongoing academic support to the girls in across the programs.
- Plan effective instruction that supports academic growth and provide weekly submission of lesson plans.
- Work with afterschool staff and supervisors to integrate academic learning into the daily routines
- Bi-Weekly submission of progress notes
- Effective communication with parents, team members and support agencies
- Actively participates in all required team meetings, trainings, and supervisory sessions. Meets regularly with supervisor, communicates openly needs, concerns, and ideas; utilizes feedback given in supervisory sessions.
- Performs in accordance with established system-wide competencies and receives satisfactory performance evaluations annually
- Performs other duties as assigned
Work Environment:
Works in an environment with girls in grades 3-12 with adverse backgrounds. Staff must be prepared to engage youth and be able to problem solve.
