$14.00 - $15.00 per hour/ Based on Experience

(Once the maximum salary is reached, only COLAs will be allowed unless a higher salary range has been approved by Tribal Council.)

 

JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direct supervision and evaluation of the AoA Title VI Program Director and the Caddo
Nation AoA Cook, this position will be responsible for assisting in the preparing and serving of meals. Helping maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen. Responsible to aiding in the organization of storage supplies. Delivery of meals to homebound clients in accordance with the AoA Title VI and USDA program guidelines.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists in preparing meals according to AoA/USDA requirements with minimal waste and works from written menus & recipes for varying number of people;
  • Operates standard cooking equipment & utensils for quantity food preparation, and maintains all appliances in a clean, safe, and good working condition;
  • Receives and properly stores food & supply items at the site;
  • Assisting the Caddo Nation AoA Cook with pre-prep, packaging delivery meals;
  • Ensures elders are served according to the recommended dietary guidelines in a pleasant environment and conversation which are suitable for meal time;
  • Ensures the clean-up of the kitchen and dining areas after each meal service maintaining safety & sanitation standards at the site according to program guidelines;

• Stand, reach with hands & arms, and talk or hear;
• Walk, Sit, and use hands to handle or feel;
• Stoop, kneel. crouch, or crawl;
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds;
• Must have specific vision abilities required by this job to include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Hours may fluctuate, job hazards include, slips, falls, cuts and burns; but injuries are seldom serious. Indoors unless driving van. Contact with different people daily.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must possess a valid Driver's License and reliable transportation;
• High school diploma or GED;
• Possess or be able to obtain Food Handlers certification within 30 days of hire;
• Willing to occasionally travel for training/technical assistance;
• Basic computer literacy;

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Must have a good driving record and be insurable.
Must be willing to attain a food handlers certificate.
