Facilities Maintenance General Laborer

Summary

CNS is seeking a Facilities Maintenance General Laborer to perform routine buildings and grounds maintenance and general labor tasks across multiple sites. This position supports departmental operations by completing service requests submitted through the work order system and contributes to the safety, cleanliness, and functionality of the organization’s facilities.

Essential Functions

This position will perform the following key responsibilities:

• Maintain grounds through mowing, trimming, and debris removal
   
• Perform indoor and outdoor painting
   
• Conduct fence repair and light drywall patching
   
• Assist with basic irrigation system repair
   
• Support event and meeting setup, including tables and chairs
   
• Repair and adjust doors and gates
   
• Install and relocate carpet, fixtures, and office furniture
   
• Organize maintenance shops and storage areas
   
• Assist with fixture replacements (non-mechanical systems)
   
• Complete and document work requests through the facility’s work order system
   
• Perform minor repairs and installations as assigned

Required Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED
   
• Minimum of 1 year of related facilities or maintenance experience
   
• Any equivalent combination of certifications, education, or experience that provides the required knowledge and skills will be considered
   

Licenses, Registrations, and Certifications

• Must possess and maintain a valid Class ‘R’ Colorado driver’s license
   
• Must have and maintain a satisfactory driving record
   

Work Environment

This role involves both indoor and outdoor work in a variety of weather conditions. The employee may be exposed to loud noises, dirt, dust, paint fumes, and mechanical hazards. The position frequently uses hand and power tools.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

• Stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods
   
• Lift and carry materials and equipment up to 50 pounds
   
• Climb ladders and operate maintenance equipment
   
• Use hands and arms to reach, handle tools, and operate machinery
   

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Occasional overtime, weekend work, or after-hours response may be required based on operational needs.
