Genetic Results Analyst (U.S. Based only, Fully Remote)

The position requirement is that the team member be located in the U.S.  We are currently not accepting international candidates. 

Our ideal candidate is located in the Pacific Timezone and working in the U.S. PST is our first preference, EST is our second preference.

Transnetyx is seeking a full-time Genetic Results Analyst.  This role is fully remote joining our U.S. Team.  You are responsible for reviewing Transnetyx genetic testing results on a daily/weekly basis. Results reviewers are responsible for checking in twice-daily to assess the work load. Reviewers are responsible for maintaining the company’s on-time and accuracy percentages. The position consists of approximately 35 hours per week post-training.  You will model appropriate behavior as exemplified by the YX values, mission, and vision of Transnetyx.

The Role (Essential Functions and Duties)

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING DAY TO DAY 

• Participating actively on the quality results review team to ensure timely and accurate release of our finished product.
• Reviewing genetic results, scheduling retests based on results including but not limited to:
  • qPCR analysis
    • qualitative (presence or absence genotyping analysis)
    • quantitative (currently only through copy number variation)
  • STR/Fragment Size analysis
• Collaborating with team members on in depth analysis and confirmation of peer’s calls (all results are dually reviewed)
• Reviewing assays and categorize based on data.
• Identifying any trends in data based on qc flags.
• Setting ranges for future automated results calling as needed.
• Performing other QA duties as assigned.
  • Assists in QA investigations for both operations and assay related issues
  • Assists in analyzing QA and GRS experiments
  • Assists in analyzing QA and QC runs for validation

WHAT YOU WILL BRING (Qualifications)

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor of Science in Biology or related field preferred but not required.

EXPERIENCE:

• Must be analytically minded. 
• A scientific background with an understanding of molecular biology and research lab experience is a plus, but not required.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Must be comfortable with computers and be able to manage one’s own home internet connectivity.
• Microsoft Office proficiency required.
• Tableau and/or Gene Mapper proficiency preferred but not required.

• Must demonstrate a strong work ethic including great personal drive, motivation, discipline, and initiative.
• Must possess the ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all team members.
• Must possess outstanding communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills.

Physical Demands:

• The physical activities of this position may include sitting for long periods of time, hearing, reaching, grasping, and repetitive motion.
• Must have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
• Fully remote work, no travel requirements.
