This is a primarily remote position with occasional in-person meetings at our office or with clients. Candidates should be located within a commutable distance to Austin, San Antonio, or Houston, as periodic onsite presence may be required.
What you will do
We are seeking an experienced federal grants specialist to lead a small team of accountants in managing federal grants and related financial activities. This is a newly created position in our Consulting practice leading a long-term project. The ideal candidate will possess a background in accounting or audit. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant grant accounting and managing grant-related projects.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of grant applications and expense reimbursement packages.
- Ensure compliance with federal grant regulations and reporting requirements
- Coordinate and support single audit processes.
- Collaborate with state agencies and internal departments to manage grant-related activities.
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
- Review and approval of requisitions to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
- Assist in establishing departmental deadlines and a tracking system to ensure that deadlines are met.
- Prepares documentation of grant expenses, including invoices, check requests, and payroll records.
- Prepare grant-related journal entries, including grant revenue and indirect expense allocations.
- As part of our compliance program, all team members are required to follow industry leading data and system security practices.
