What We Expect

We are looking for a dynamic and professional Sous Chef with a minimum of 4+ years experience in multiple culinary/food and beverage positions, showing professional and career growth in the culinary industry, and the ability to lead as a working manager. The ideal candidate will have a positive and outgoing attitude, member/guest-orientated and service-minded, possess integrity, excellent moral standards, high work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while also being in a team environment. The candidate must have and maintain flexibility where hours will usually include evenings, weekends and holidays.

In turn, you will be provided with flexible working hours, state-of-the-art equipment and facility, and a supportive team, managers, and members. This is an onsite-only position.

 

Key Responsibilities

As a Sous Chef at Dunwoody Country Club, you will:

  • Leadership: Manage and lead culinary operations as a working manager to ensure clear and consistent communications as it pertains to expectations, organization, food cost, labor cost and food presentation, and the overall Member and guest dining experience.
  • Fiscal Responsibility: Forecasting of culinary needs, planning and managing kitchen supplies, equipment, food orders, staffing needs, inventory and cost of goods set forth in the established operational budget.
  • Communication:  Communicate and collaborate with the Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef, Food & Beverage Manager(s)/Supervisor(s) to review timelines or dietary restrictions associated with Club events, banquets or ongoing dining operations.
  • Demonstrate continuous training knowledge and stay updated with industry trends.

 

Additional Information

This is an on-site, salaried position with flexible hours. Reliable transportation is essential. If candidates are not within a reasonable commuting distance, they should plan to relocate to a nearby area before starting work.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • College degree, restaurant management, culinary arts, or equivalent experience is required.
  • Minimum of 4+ years experience in multiple culinary/food and beverage positions, showing professional and career growth in the culinary industry, and the ability to lead as a working manager.
  • Working knowledge of culinary operations as well as AGC cultural and core standards, policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to a minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently and diplomatically
  • Integrity, excellent moral standards, high work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while also being a team player.
