The Shipping Clerk is responsible for the accurate processing, tracking, and management of incoming and outgoing shipments, including receiving, packing, and labeling orders for shipment, maintaining inventory records, and coordinating with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure smooth operations and timely deliveries. Key duties involve using logistics software and scanners, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and resolving any discrepancies in shipping or inventory. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, physical ability to lift and move packages, and the capacity to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Receiving & Inventory: Unload trucks, inspect deliveries, verify items against order documents, and record all incoming shipments.
- Order Processing: Receive and process product orders, accurately pick and pack items for shipment, and prepare shipping documents like labels and packing slips.
- Shipping & Logistics: Arrange for the shipment of goods, track shipments, and coordinate with shipping carriers.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate files and logs of all incoming and outgoing goods and prepare shipping and receiving reports for management.
- Warehouse Management: Keep the stockroom organized, ensure sufficient storage space, and move materials to their proper storage locations.
- Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any issues that arise during shipping or inventory handling.
