KIPP Atlanta Schools is part of the KIPP (Knowledge is Power Program) national network of free, open enrollment, college preparatory schools dedicated to ensuring that every child grows up free to create the future they want for themselves and their communities. There are 278 KIPP schools in 21 states and the District of Columbia serving more than 175,000 scholars and alumni. KIPP Atlanta currently operates 11 schools including five primary schools, six middle schools and one high school, as well as KIPP Forward which supports scholars on their journey to a choice-filled life. Job Summary:
The Culture Paraprofessional plays a vital role in ensuring a safe, structured, joyful, and supportive school environment for all students. Working closely with school leadership and the Student Support team, the Culture Paraprofessional provides direct social-emotional and behavioral support, implements school-wide culture systems, and models KIPP’s values of excellence, respect, responsibility, and resilience.

Student Support and Intervention

- Provide direct, proactive behavioral and social-emotional support to students as assigned.
- Assist with discipline investigations and support restorative conversations and interventions.
- Make daily attendance/absence calls to ensure scholars are supported and accounted for.
- Monitor hallways, classrooms, cafeterias, recess, and other school spaces to promote a safe and orderly environment.
- Support In-School Suspension (ISS) by supervising, collecting assignments, and facilitating reflection opportunities.
- Demonstrate and model positive boundaries with students and families while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
- Uphold and reinforce KIPP’s values, school culture systems, and behavior expectations consistently and equitably.

- Collect, organize, and return ISS assignments to teachers in a timely manner.
- Document behavioral interventions, supports, and incidents using designated online platforms.
- Maintain accurate records of recurring behavior issues and interventions.
- Provide additional clerical and student support tasks as assigned.
