The Maine Community College System (MCCS) is looking for a full-time EMS Program Coordinator. Under the direction of the VP and Chief Academic Officer the EMS Program Coordinator will provide coordination and support to the Emergency Medical Services Programs and Workforce Trainings across the colleges in the Maine Community College System. The primary focus of this position will be to align and standardize program outcomes for all MCCS EMS awards, support curriculum revision, development, and common course numbering across EMS programs, create guided pathways with each of the colleges, identify “centers of excellence” in education, training, and resources across the system, guide scheduling conversations to improve quality and efficiencies of college and system resources, coordinate partnership conversations (advisory board meetings, etc.), develop a system wide clinical agreement for all programs, and draft a best practices summary document to support continuous improvement and future system initiatives.
The EMS Program Coordinator is within the MEA Administrators bargaining unit, level 5. The required minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in an EMS-related field and five or more years of EMS or comparable experience. A master’s degree in an EMS-related field and 10 or more years of EMS or comparable experience is preferred.
The required knowledge, skills, and abilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Personnel management experience.
• Experience managing a complex organization and facilitating collaboration.
• Leadership experience.
• Knowledge of or experience working in the EMS delivery community.
