This is a hybrid position and will require both in-office (3 days) and remote work (2 days).

 

Salary - $47,000.00 - $50,000.00

 

Position Overview

 

CancerCare is the leading national organization dedicated to providing free, professional support services, including resource navigation, individual counseling, support groups, educational workshops, publications, and financial assistance to anyone affected by cancer.

 

The Communications Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative, graphic design, and editorial support to the Communications team. Responsibilities will include assisting with social media, writing, design, and email marketing.

 

The Communications Coordinator will be responsible for:

 

  • Assisting with graphic design projects
  • Assisting with media relations by disseminating organizational information (including press releases, email campaigns, and reports on social media)
  • Planning and creating content for CancerCare’s social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, TikTok, and YouTube, and responding to messages and comments
  • Coordinating daily social media posts and social media ad campaigns
  • Creating goals and metrics for increasing social media followers and engagement, monitoring and analyzing outcomes, and assisting in making recommendations for CancerCare’s external communication strategies
  • Writing content for CancerCare’s blog
  • Assisting with developing and maintaining publications and client stories
  • Updating CancerCare listings in local and national resource directories
  • Performing updates to CancerCare’s website
  • Drafting and distributing targeted marketing emails and monthly newsletters
  • Providing general administrative support to the Communications team
  • Additional tasks as needed

Qualifications

Requirements, Education, and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree required with some relevant work or internship experience
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter, highly organized, detailed, and team-oriented
  • Must be able to multitask while meeting deadlines
  • Strong computer skills and social media savvy
  • Working knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, and Adobe Acrobat required
  • Experience with video editing, Instagram Reels, Facebook Ads, and Constant Contact preferred.
