Position Overview:Â Â Â
This key management position is responsible for leading an effective and sustainable, data-driven, facility wide, and quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) program.  The QAPI and Risk Manager maintains a quality infrastructure that includes development and implementation of decision tools, clinical processes and guidelines, care management programs, and outcome measurement assessments. This manager leads both the Quality Counsel and the Performance Improvement Committee. The QAPI and Risk Manager assures that PSMC participates fully with regulatory quality programs both federal and state. The Manager participates in external committees and meetings to develop critical relationships with community and professional resources. The QAPI and Risk Manager has strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to analyze situations and arrive at creative solutions to complex healthcare challenges.Â

- Oversight of effective day-to-day operations; Â

Development, implementation of processes to improve clinical care for the appropriate patient population;Â

Coordination and collaboration with the medical staff, other managers / leaders and staff;Â

Participation in hospital-wide problem solving, sharing of information and other joint efforts;Â

Recommending and implementing innovative organizational processes which support the safe and effective provision of patient care and improve patient outcomes.Â

About PSMC:Â Â
Pagosa Springs Medical Center has an attractive facility in a scenic town. PSMC is an independent, patient-centered facility, which opened its doors in 2008. The medical center operates both a hospital and an outpatient rural health clinic. PSMC is licensed for 11 inpatient beds and has board certified physicians caring for patients via our level IV trauma center. PSMC offers a range of specialty services including orthopedics, general surgery, pulmonology, oncology, infusion cardiology, and neurology. PSMC has an on-site lab and diagnostic imaging including MRI, CT, ultrasound, x-ray, and mammography together with an on-site radiologist and access to Colorado’s largest team of tele-radiologists. Our outpatient clinic is attached to the hospital and has 32 exam rooms for primary care services, behavioral health, and our specialty clinic services. Our Medical Wellness Building offers physical therapy and pain management. PSMC offers a 24/7 emergency department, EMS/ambulance, and inpatient ward. Â
