Description

Position Summary:

The Perioperative RN is responsible for coordinating and managing safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care for surgical patients throughout the perioperative process including the pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases. The employee will provide support, education, direct care to patients, and act as a liaison between the surgical team and the patient families/support systems. Using a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to patient care, the perioperative nurse works closely with the entire surgical team. The perioperative registered nurse may serve as a: (1) Circulating Nurse, (2) 1st Scrub (Instrument) Nurse, and/or (3) 2nd Scrub (Assistant) Nurse depending on level of experience and training.

Qualifications

Base Compensation Range: $33.25 - $51.40 hourly, based on years of relevant experience. "Relevant experience" means relevant to the employee's responsibilities set forth in the job description as determined by the HR Manager, CAO, applicable department manager/director and applicable senior leader.

	X	High school diploma or equivalent.
	X	Graduate of an accredited RN program.
	X	BSN is desired but not required.
Experience:	X	Minimum of two (2) years experience in the perioperative setting is strongly desired but not preferred.
	X	Gastroenterology / Endoscopy Lab experience is desired but not required.
	X	Orthopedic, general surgery, gynecology, ophthalmology, ENT surgical procedures and interventional pain management experience is required.
Special Skills, Licenses or Certifications:	X	Current Colorado licensure as RN, in good standing.
	X	Current AHA BLS certification or attendance and successful completion at the next available course (within 3 months).
	X	Current ACLS certification or attendance and successful completion at next available course (within 3 months).
	X	Current PALS certification or attendance and successful completion at the next available course (within 3 months).
	X	CNOR certification is desired but not required. CRNFA certification is beneficial.
	X	Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Office, electronic health record).
Language Skills:	X	Demonstrates ability to read, write, and clearly express one’s self in English 100% of the time.

Supervisory Responsibilities:	X	This position IS responsible for supervising other personnel, including involvement in supervision of the performance of the surgical technician, sterile processing technician and housekeeping personnel and providing input for annual performance reviews.
