Fort Worth Country Day is seeking a full-time Grounds Worker to be part of the Plant Operations department. Reporting to the Grounds Supervisor, this is a full-time, non-exempt, hourly paid position typically working Monday through Friday 6 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.Â
Â
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Mowing, edging and fertilizing lawns
- Weeding and mulching landscape beds
- Trimming small trees, hedges and shrubs
- Removing unwanted, dead or damaged trees
- Planting shrubs, flowers and trees
- Watering gardens, lawns and landscapes
- Monitoring and maintaining plant health
- Ability to operate equipment to include a tractor
- Communicate with fellow employees and supervisors
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
- Must be able to read, write and follow written and oral instructions
Â
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Ability to perform work independently without close supervision
Â
Physical requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for the entire 8-hour shift
- Ability to push, pull, bend, reach and crouch
- Must be able to lift, carry and transfer items up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to climb stairs and ladders and work in elevated areas
- Must be able to drive a golf cart on school grounds
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in all climates and conditions
