Bartender

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist and approach all guests in a sincere, courteous and service-oriented manner, and whenever possible, go the extra mile to ensure total guest satisfaction.
  • Thoroughly and correctly set up the bar prior to opening and make sure the bar is clean before and at the end of shift according to operational policies and standards.
  • Complete necessary side-work as per schedule, this includes stocking and organizing all liquor, juices, glassware, paper, wines, cut fruit, etc.
  • Knowledgeable about all menu items and beverages served, their garnish, contents and preparation methods.
  • Adhere to all local and national liquor laws.
  • Take and know inventory at all times, and requisition daily supplies as needed to ensure efficient operations.
  • Take orders accurately and follow proper cashiering functions by completing/closing guest checks and submitting information into POS system.
  • Attend meetings/training as required by management.
  • Maintain regular attendance, be consistently on time, and observe prescribed work, break and meal periods in compliance with standards.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance, grooming and hygiene, which includes compliance with the dress code.
  • Perform any other duties as requested by supervisor.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

  • Completion of Bartender's school or course preferred, or relevant experience in a restaurant.
  • Minimum of one year of bartending experience preferred.
  • Must complete and maintain up-to-date alcohol serving class, such as TABC or other state approved classes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to read/ write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence
  • Ability to interpret and perform basic math, computer and POS system functions.
  • Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages, according to local state laws.
