JOB SUMMARY: : We are looking for a driven, highly motivated, and technically skilled Product Engineering Apprentice to join our Motion Control Product Management group. This apprenticeship offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with engineers and product managers and receive real-world experience within the motion control industry. The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of CAD drawing, problem-solving, and technical learning.

ESSTENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Create and review CAD drawings and technical documentation (e.g., SolidWorks) for various products. Learn and then provide technical support/train others on complex technical topics, preparing work instructions where necessary to ensure clarity and consistency.
  • Conduct detailed data analysis and create reports to track performance and improvements of motion control products.
  • Manage multiple projects effectively, balancing time and resources to meet deadlines and ensure product quality, while maintaining accurate records and effective communication throughout.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to meet product and project objectives and support continuous improvement.
  •  Ensure adherence to safety regulations and promote a culture of safety throughout the team and organization.
  •  Job duties are subject to change as directed by management.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  •  Currently pursuing or open to pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field (i.e. Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, etc.).
  • High intrinsic drive and accountability to meet personal and organizational goals in new products, technologies, processes, and tools.
  •  Exposure to (prefer proficiency in) CAD drawing software (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and autonomously make decisions based on data and technical specifications.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and error detection/fixing.
  •  Strong project management and time management skills; able to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments.
  •  Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with motion control products or related industries is a plus.
  • Previous experience with project execution and/or product engineering is an advantage.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, push or pull up to 50 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, and balance. The employee must regularly lift and or move objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include: close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
