What You’ll Do

  

  • Serve as choreographer for our Fall production of Annie Jr.
  • Serve as choreographer for our Spring production of Into the Woods Jr.
  • Lead with enthusiasm and positive motivation in program
  • Develop and teach dance routines to children of various ages, skills, and abilities
  • Assist director with evaluating actors from a dance perspective during auditions
  • Lead all choreography rehearsals
  • Assist with general supervision of actors during rehearsals and break times
  • Assist with actor sign in and sign out when arriving and departing rehearsal
  • Assist the director with creating a rehearsal schedule each month, providing insight from a choreography perspective
  • Attend all tech rehearsals, dress rehearsals, and performances
  • Maintain a clean and risk-free environment.
  • Communicate effectively and timely with production team
  • Promote other YMCA programs by handing out brochures, answering questions, or referral to appropriate person.
  • Ensure compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What You'll Need

 

  • 18 years of age with high school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 1-year prior teaching or instructional experience
  • Training and qualifications in dance and choreography creation and development
  • Demonstrate ability to develop and teach choreography to children of various ages, skill, and abilities
  • Ability to effectively use technology for programmatic needs
  • Obtain and maintain all new hires certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire
