Start in Packaging and work your way up - but be prepared for lifting and palletizing up to 50 lb bags of product as the main job for the first six months. We'll move you up into equipment upskilling as soon as possible, according to your abilities and efforts.

Position Summary:
A key member of the Operations team. Provides final stage packaging, weighing, sealing, and stacking of product. Responsible for ensuring packaged products meet compliance factors and are neatly stacked according to standard operating procedures. Requires lifting and moving up to 60 pounds on a regular and ongoing basis for an 8-10 hour shift.
Responsibilities / Duties:
- Operating multiple unit operations and equipment
- Assist engineers with set-up and implementation of new and existing processes
- Work with Production Management to identify process improvements
- Responsible for scale calibration and understanding proper documentation standards.
- Place packaging material (bags, boxes, etc.) correctly on or underneath feeder assembly to accept the product
- Remove product from feeder assembly and sets on a scale to weigh the package
- Weigh the package and add or subtract material to achieve the proper weight
- Move the package to the heat sealer (or applicable device) to seal the package
- Move the sealed package to the metal detector and run to ensure no metal is present
- Document the package is of the correct weight and did not detect any metal
- Stack or place the product per standard operating procedures, generally on pallets
- Coordinate with other team members to move pallets once full and have new pallets started
- Coordinate with team members for employee break and meal times to ensure the system is continually operating smoothly and without shutdowns
