Job Summary
The eDiscovery Manager will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of eDiscovery processes, from information governance through data preservation, collection, processing, review, and production. This role involves working closely with attorneys, litigation support professionals, IT, and third-party vendors to implement best practices and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Under the guidance/direction of, and in collaboration with, the leader of the eDiscovery and Digital Forensics Team, the eDiscovery Manager will:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the firm’s eDiscovery function across all practice groups.
- Consult with attorneys and litigation teams on eDiscovery strategy, including data identification, collection, processing, and production protocols.
- Oversee and support the use of litigation support and eDiscovery platforms (e.g., Axcelerate, Relativity, DISCO, Everlaw, Nuix, etc.).
- Coordinate with IT and records departments to ensure preservation and defensibility of client data.
- Select, manage, and evaluate third-party eDiscovery vendors and service providers.
- Develop workflows and protocols to standardize eDiscovery practices across the firm.
- Assist lawyers in strategizing and executing digital forensics investigations.
- Monitor project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure cost-effective solutions.
- Provide training and support to attorneys and staff on eDiscovery tools and best practices.
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends, court rules, and emerging technologies related to eDiscovery and information governance.
- Uphold the firm’s reputation as the premier source for sophisticated legal counsel by delivering superior outcomes, service, and value to every client and matter.
