Position Summary:
Determine the applicability of Environmental, Health, Safety, and Transportation regulations and implement effective, cost effective, and sustainable compliance programs. Continuously evaluate risks and continuously improve all written programs and support business unit goals and objectives. This position is based out of our corporate office in Beaver Dam. The core hours are 7:30am-4:30pm but varies.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Review incident investigations and track to closure for insurance and regulatory compliance.
- Act as contact for the Cooperatives regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, EPA, DATCP, DOT, and FRA).
- Evaluate the effect that new regulations have on the company, and the best way to comply.
- Develop regulatory compliance programs to include but not limited to: Lockout Tag out, Confined Space, Bin Entry, Powered industrial truck, and commercial motor vehicle.
- Develop, monitor, and evaluate incident reporting system to insure proper use by employees.
- Use metrics from the analysis of the incident reporting system, to identify areas of concern.
- Help compile or develop effective training materials for employee training.
- Conduct annual training, including hands-on for all employees.
- Complete regulatory reporting in a timely manner (FIFRA, OSHA 300, UST, Air permits).
- Develop relationship with all location managers.
- Develop and track metrics for safety committee.
- Communicate sensitive matters with management and maintain necessary confidentiality.
- Communicate with executive leadership, location management and operational employees.
- Ability to analyze compliance options and to recommend cost effective solutions.
- Create LOTO procedure.
- Able to purchase EHS supplies within approved budget and manage inventory costs.
- Ability to understand the nature of our many business units and the variety of industries that they represent.
