WOODLAND POND CONFORMANCE STATEMENT

Position Summary
The Lead Dietary Aide coordinates the duties of co-workers with the supervision of the meal service to ensure a pleasant, safe and pleasurable dining experience for residents, staff and visitors and their guests

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (*CF indicates Critical Function)

  • Assists in monitoring employee productivity and ensuring that all levels of service are maintained during the meal periods to all residents, guests and visitors of the community (*CF)
  • Coordinates activities within the dining department including assigning day to day activities of subordinates or assigning specific work or functions as required (*CF)
  • Works to maintain the level of service that ensures satisfaction in all areas such as quality, service or problem solving opportunities
  • Serves meals to residents with professionalism and respect while abiding by the DOH regulations and standards
  • Knows and understands modified diets, diet restrictions and limitations for each resident and is most knowledgeable in all 3 HC dining rooms, menus, tallies, and resident dietary needs and restrictions. Completes tally sheets and coordinates them with the HCDSS (*CF)

 

  • Completes all items on Job Flow charts from start to finish for each shift dependent on the assigned section
  • Arranges dining room and kitchen and all items in the dining room and kitchen with special attention and order, always maintaining a neat, clean and safe environment for employees and resident
  • Assists in training new HC wait staff employees
  • In the absence of the HCDSS is not present or busy, responsible for resolving resident complaints or issues with food service
  • Lead by example as related to the check out procedures at the end of each shift
  • Ensures proper time management is being used during dining services as well as check outs
  • Ensures daily temp logs are completed each day and checked for accuracy (*CF)
  • Completes a weekly HC inventory
  • Assists the HCDSS with catering events
  • Follows all emergency procedures and proper evacuation of the dining room
  • Completes all required training and in-services
  • All other duties as assigned

  • Possesses basic food handling skills and food safety knowledge

  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
  • Maintains predictable and reliable attendance, wearing the appropriate uniform as assigned

Qualifications

  1. High school graduate or HSE preferred
  2. Prior experience preferred
  3. Basic computer skills required
  4. Able to write legibly, takes oral and written instruction well
  5. Has demonstrated knowledge of appropriate skills for communicating with individuals of all ages, especially the elderly or geriatric population
