Dining Assistant- Weekends
Position Summary     Â
The Dining Room Assistant fosters an enjoyable casual dining experience while providing quality customer service and attending to dining related concerns or matters needing attention.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESÂ Â (*CF indicates Critical Function)
- Coordinates the Outlook calendar system in order to maintain proper timing of reservations (*CF)
- Contacts residents, as needed, to review menu options. Receives food orders for to-go and takeout meals and coordinates all delivery and pick-up (*CF)
- Makes sure that the dining room is free of potential hazards to residents, including stowing all walkers and other ambulatory devices in the proper location (*CF)Â
- Ensures that the wait staff complete evening closing tasks, in the absence of the Dining Room Manager, as per the closing checklists (*CF)
- Monitors wait staff to ensure all meals, wine, dessert, and other miscellaneous charges are captured properly
- Attends weekly meeting with the Director of Resident Services to identify and discuss changes or concerns affecting the well-being of a resident (*CF)
- Rounds the dining room during meal service to assist the wait staff while promoting a pleasurable experience

- Assists the wait staff, when necessary, with taking food orders and waiting on tables
- Follows all emergency procedures and proper evacuation of the dining roomÂ
- Maintains proper hygiene while serving, to include wearing gloves and washing hands when needed
- Completes all required training and in-services
- All other duties as assigned

- Maintains predictable and reliable attendance, wearing the appropriate uniform as assigned
Qualifications
- High school graduate or HSE preferred
- Prior experience preferred
- Basic computer skills required
- Able to write legibly, takes oral and written instruction well
- Has demonstrated knowledge of appropriate skills for communicating with individuals of all ages, especially the elderly or geriatric population

Occasional off-site meetings, seminars, and conferences

Must adapt to frequent schedule changes. Possible overtime.

Scheduled Hours of the position:
Sat 10:30am - 6:30pm (7.5 hours)
Sun 10:30am - 3:00pm (4.5 hours)
