WOODLAND POND CONFORMANCE STATEMENT

Position Summary
The Laundry and Linen Aide is responsible to perform assigned EVS tasks, as directed by the EVS Coordinator, on the skilled nursing and/or the assisted living/garden view units. Incuding but not limited to stripping and making resident beds up with clean sheets, making resident beds daily, management of all health center laundry.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (*CF indicates Critical Function)
Environmental Service / Laundry (all are *CF):
Frequent rounding of unit to ensure cleanliness and tidiness, including:
- Performs all laundry related tasks (removing dirty laundry and linens, delivering dirty and clean laundry to and from soiled and clean utility rooms, and to and from WP laundry facility, hangs and puts away clean laundry in closets/ drawers daily) *(CF)
- Performs mattress cleaning on skilled nursing in accordance with mattress cleaning schedule (*CF)
- Strips and makes resident beds daily, with hospital corners, on assigned unit(s). Beds to be made by 10:00am for all residents out of bed; may require coordination with nursing unit assistants (*CF)
- Ensures that all clothing and laundry items either removed to be laundered, or put away in correct location and manner every day worked for all residents on assigned unit (CF*)
- Ensures that all linen being put away is labeled and the item is in the correct resident room (*CF)
- Stocks linen and all personal care supply par levels in resident rooms and isolation bins on unit *(CF)
- Assists EVS staff on the unit with all other EVS tasks in resident rooms, as permitted by time
- Reports damaged items in need of repair
Safety and Sanitation:
- Washes hands before and after performing any direct service for the resident
- Follows established safety precautions in the performance of all duties
- Follows established isolation precautions and procedures (*CF)
- Reports missing/illegible labels and SDSs to your supervisor
Equipment and Supply:
- Uses only the equipment you have been trained to use in a safe manner
- Reports defective equipment to Supervisor
- Informs the Supervisor of equipment and supply needs
Personnel:
- Performs all assigned tasks in accordance with our established policies and procedures, and as instructed by your supervisor (*CF)
- Cooperates with inter-departmental personnel, as well as other facility personnel to ensure that non nursing services can be adequately maintained to meet the needs of the residents and the facility (*CF)
- Creates and maintains an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the unit and shift
- Reports all complaints and grievances made by the resident to proper department (*CF)
- Reports known or suspected incidents of fraud to the Administrator/Corporate Compliance Officer
Staff Development:
- Attends and participates in scheduled orientation programs and activities
- Attends and participates in facility in-service training programs as instructed
Resident Rights:
- Maintains the confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information. Report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure of such information (*CF)
- Ensures that you treat all residents fairly, and with kindness, dignity, and respect, knocking before entering room, ensuring privacy (*CF)
- Reports all allegations of resident abuse and/or misappropriation of resident property (*CF)
Administrative:
- Agrees not to disclose resident’s protected health information and promptly report suspected or known violations of such disclosure to the Administrator
- Reports any known or suspected unauthorized attempt to access facility’s information system
- All other duties as assigned
