E Source is looking for an outgoing, energetic, and passionate sales professional to join our growing sales and engagement team in driving new business in the municipal water utility market space. This position will be focused on developing new leads, conducting pre-sales activities, and working primarily with the E Source Water Loss Consulting team to grow our pipeline and sales. The ideal candidate will have minimum 5 years’ experience selling, consulting, technology solutions or products to municipal water utilities in North America. The position will report to the Senior VP, Business Development, for the E Source BTO Division.

 

 

E Source provides independent research, data science, consulting, and advisory services to electric, gas, and water utilities and other key players in the utility industry. The Water Loss Consulting division at E Source specializes in water loss assessment and management. We help utilities reduce water loss, improve resource efficiency, and meet regulatory requirements. We combine program strategy, analytics, and field services—ranging from water loss control strategy and leakage recovery pilots to leak detection, pressure surveys, and source meter testing—to identify the greatest opportunities for improvement. By prioritizing cost-effective interventions and supporting implementation, we help utilities increase revenue, reduce costs, conserve water, and defer the need for additional supply. Our work strategically enhances operations while improving service for the communities our clients serve.

 

 

The WLC Business Development Manager will cultivate and manage sales opportunities from lead generation to sales pursuit to close. The results-driven individual will partner with E Source’s WLC Team, subject matter experts, marketing teams, and peer business development personnel to promote and sell E Source solutions. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of identifying and developing opportunities to build a qualified sales pipeline and consistently meeting sales targets. The individual will have the demonstrated ability to sell to multiple levels in water utilities and is a team player, who can work in a high-pressure environment with tight deadlines.

How you’ll help:

 

  • Manage sales opportunities from lead generation to sales pursuit to close
  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities, participate in sales presentations, and lead responses to qualified proposals working with the Sales Support Proposal Team
  • Leverage existing water utility and industry relationships
  • Drive new business to meet new sales targets
  • Participate in sales meetings and assist in developing sales forecasts
  • Collaborate with internal teams to optimize pursuit strategies
  • Gain and share understanding of prospects organization, business strategies, and key challenges to facilitate more likely wins
  • Use in-depth knowledge and insight of key competitors to create compelling reasons for prospective clients to engage with E Source

 

 

What will make you a great fit:

 

  • Minimum of 5 years of proven solution sales experience to multiple levels in municipal water utility organizations
  • Experience selling to and working with all organizational levels of utilities
  • Ability to work in high-pressure environments with tight deadlines and proven track record of meeting sales targets
  • Familiarity with utility water loss and non-revenue water concepts is an advantage
  • Personal integrity and team player
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, and organizational skills
  • Experience working with water utilities
  • Prospecting: Proactive approach and the ability to leverage a network of individuals, vendors, and water utility personnel to identify potential opportunities, conduct presales activities, and increase our pipeline and win rate
  • Experience with SalesForce.com
  • Meeting sales goals

The budgeted salary for this position is:

 

· $100,000–$120,000 USD + annual bonus or commissions

 

Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.

 

 

This role can be 100% remote with up to 50% travel.
