Night Auditor

The Night Auditor is responsible for reconciling all revenue and expense transactions which occurred during the day at the hotel, reviewing, organizing, and compiling management reports on a timely basis and ensuring the accuracy of guest billings. He/she is also responsible for effectively communicating concerns and/or related issues to all levels of management and performing guest service agent duties as required, including check-in, check-out, switchboard operation, and reservations.

Essential Job Functions and Performance Indicators

• Keeps work area, equipment, and lobby clean and orderly.

• Entering/changing reservations information in the computer system.

• Posting charges to guest accounts.

• Investigation or analyzing out-of-balance situations and adjusting or correcting as needed.

• Completing various computer audit reports.

• Offer courteous and sincere hospitality at all times. Understand what is meant by “good customer service.”

• Handles, understands, and responds to customer complaints and needs calmly and advises effectively or seeks assistance from management. • Communicate and work well with supervisor and hotel employees.

• Follows training guidelines using good judgment and common sense.

• Closing, balancing, and making necessary corrections to guest accounts.

• Balancing shift work and cash drawers.

• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametags.

• Provides gracious hospitality towards all customers.

• Create a productive and positive atmosphere; have a good relationship with all associates and other departments.

• At all times strive to represent hotel and brand in the most professional, courteous manner.

• Advise the Company of any actions/situations that pose a threat to any employee, customer, or guest.

• Observe safety and security procedures and use equipment and materials properly.

• Keep all business confidential both on and off duty. Job may require other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications – Required qualifications to effectively perform the job. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. (Additional requirements may be designated by position.)

• High school diploma or equivalent • Previous auditing experience

• Guest service experience preferred

• Computer knowledge / skills required
