Support Specialist I - FT

The IT Support Specialist I will work under direct supervision with the intention of developing the Team Member in this role to be able to work independently. The IT Support Specialist I will perform technical and skilled duties in the operation of enterprise, client/server and desktop computer systems and networks. This position will perform technical support for multiple on-line network systems, auxiliary consoles and peripheral equipment on electronic computer systems. The IT Support Specialist I will act as the primary Help Desk phone and email support. Responsibilities must be performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.

Essential Functions:

Practice, support, and promote Thunder Valley Casino Resort’s “Winning Attitude” company-wide culture and demonstrate AAA Four Diamond service standards at all times.

Analyze and recover systems when malfunctions occur.

Monitor security procedures.

Perform back-up, recovery and systems monitoring.

Monitor property event calendars and make necessary arrangements for support.

Monitor and respond to all tickets in the incident tracing system.

Troubleshoot software and hardware on-line to maintain performance and system throughout, including drivers and software updates.

Monitors hardware and software on LAN/WAN systems.

Monitor jobs using a computer terminal or personal computer (PC).

Monitor environmental equipment (air conditioning, humidity and temperature of computer equipment).

Assist Team Members and resolve problems with computer hardware and software.

Coordinate and schedule work with vendor service providers.

Review and update installation documentation.

Provide access to the Cold Room and other secure IT locations based on IT policies.

May be assigned as a lead on IT Operations projects.

Build and install hardware based on build/deployment procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. College degree preferred.

Applicable technical training certificates preferred.

Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.

Ability to read, write, and speak English at a level necessary for satisfactory job performance.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulatory requirements.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Basic math skills.

Ability to perform several tasks simultaneously and be able to work with minimal supervision.

Must be at least 21 years of age. 

Must be able to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License.

Physical Requirements:

Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.

Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.

Must be able to sit for the duration of shift.

Ability to access all areas of the property.

Must be able to lift 25 lbs.

Ability to view a computer monitor for duration of shift.

Manual dexterity to operate job related equipment.
