SUMMARY:

The Logistics & Trade Compliance Coordinator plays a critical cross-functional role supporting global logistics execution and import/export compliance. This position ensures shipping accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational continuity across PEI-Genesis’ supply chain. The coordinator partners closely with Product Management, Sales, Shipping & Receiving, Quality, and external freight providers to maintain efficient, compliant, and cost-effective movement of goods globally. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of logistics and trade compliance experience, strong analytical discipline, and the ability to uphold strict regulatory requirements while driving continuous improvements in freight accuracy, documentation control, and global compliance readiness.

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Business, or related field.
  • 5+ years of logistics or trade compliance experience.
  • Experience with tariff classification, import/export regulations, and global materials compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Preferred:

  • Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP.
  • Familiarity with sustainability reporting and supplier compliance systems.
  • Prior involvement in duty drawback, free trade agreements, or tariff-optimization programs.

 

ESSENTIAL TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Trade Compliance & Regulatory Support

  • Classify products under appropriate HTS codes, ECCN classifications, and tariff categories, ensuring accuracy for all import/export transactions.
  • Monitor and support company compliance with tariffs, Section 301 requirements, duty-free programs, preferential origin rules, and duty drawback eligibility.
  • Maintain and update product compliance data, including Country of Origin, Free Trade Agreement applicability, and tariff impact analysis.
  • Prepare and maintain export documentation (AES filings, declarations, commercial invoices) and assist in license management.
  • Conduct and document denied party screening and escalate issues per company protocol.
  • Assist with investigations into potential violations and support corrective action processes.

Global Material & Environmental Compliance

  • Administer and maintain supplier and product compliance related to:
    • PFAS (Perfluoroalkyl Substances) requirements
    • RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances)
    • REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization & Restriction of Chemicals)
    • SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern) declarations
    • Conflict Minerals (Dodd-Frank Section 1502)
    • POPs (Persistent Organic Pollutants under the Stockholm Convention)
  • Coordinate with Product Management and suppliers to obtain, validate, and archive material declarations, certifications, and test reports.
  • Support internal audits and customer inquiries regarding global sustainability and product compliance data.

Logistics Operations & Freight Management

  • Process and audit freight invoices, ensuring accurate GL coding and timely payment.
  • Track domestic and international shipments; troubleshoot delays, customs holds, and discrepancies.
  • Support global 3PL/4PL relationships to maintain efficient transportation flow.
  • Create and maintain structured shipping, inventory, and logbooks for audit-readiness.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for freight cost reduction, routing improvements, or carrier optimization.

Documentation, Reporting & Cross-Functional Support

  • Manage documentation related to import/export controls, material disclosures, and compliance certifications.
  • Produce analytical reports on freight spend, tariff exposure, compliance accuracy, and shipment performance.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Quality, and external partners to resolve logistics or compliance issues.
  • Support training initiatives regarding trade compliance, materials compliance, and logistics best practices.

 

 

TECHNICAL & MANAGERIAL COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong understanding of U.S. import/export regulations (CBP, BIS, EAR, ITAR, OFAC).
  • Working knowledge of global chemical/environmental regulations and supplier disclosure workflows.
  • Knowledge of tariff mitigation strategies, duty drawback, and trade preference programs.
  • Proficiency in Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, data modeling).
  • Excellent written/verbal communication, documentation accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and compliance-driven mindset.
